OUR MISSION

Our goal is to provide a platform that prioritizes vulnerable expression and centres the voices and moments at the periphery.

ROSE
GARDEN
PRESS

Rose Garden Press is run by Michelle Arnett and Michele Vanderwal. With backgrounds in English literature, creative writing, book publishing (Michele), English literature, philosophy, and library science (Michelle), we create handmade poetry chapbooks by blossoming and rooted Canadian voices.

We publish work that features unexpected metaphors, rich imagery, and visceral/unique arrangements of thought. We’re also interested in additional types of narrative devices, including stream of consciousness, belles lettres, and work that combines artistic elements (such as drawings, photos) with text.

Check out this interview with rob mclennan for more info about the press.

“And the bird called, in response to
The unheard music hidden in the shrubbery,
And the unseen eyebeam crossed, for the roses
Had the look of flowers that are looked at.
There they were as our guests, accepted and accepting.”

- T.S Eliot
